A change in the temperature high above Antarctica could dramatically alter Australia’s climate in the coming weeks and months. In the last 7 days the stratosphere above Antarctica has warmed by a around 30 degrees. This extremely rare atmospheric event, according to climatologists, have only been documented twice before, in 2002 and 2019, exacerbating catastrophic bushfires that coincided with those years.
