The United Nations’ General Assembly has voted in favour of a resolution declaring the trafficking of enslaved Africans as a crime against humanity, despite opposition from the US and some European nations.
The resolution, while not legally binding, urges member states to engage in honest dialogue on reparations, issue formal apologies and return stolen artefacts.
