Lawyers for Tom Silvagni have filed an application for leave to appeal his rape convictions.
In December, the 23-year-old was sentenced to six years and two months in jail by the County Court of Victoria after he was convicted of two counts of rape.
His parents, AFL great Stephen Silvagni and TV personality Jo Silvagni, had previously flagged they would be investigating appeal options.
A spokesperson for Victoria’s Supreme Court on Wednesday confirmed the documents had been lodged with the Court of Appeal.
