US President Donald Trump boarded a refurbished Boeing 747-8 plane gifted by Qatar that will serve as Air Force One, the plane designated to carry the president.
The plane, introduced last month, carries a $400m price tag and will serve as an interim source of air transport until the a new fleet of Boeing presidential aircraft are ready in the next two years.
The gift has proved controversial, with bipartisan criticism vocalising fears of conflicts of interest and constitutional and security implications. In May, Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer said he would obstruct all Trump administration justice department nominations until the White House provided answers on receiving the gift.
