Trump Calls Washington, D.C. National Guard Shooting An “Act Of Terror” | 10 News

US President Donald Trump has declared the shooting of two National Guard troops in Washington, D.C. an “act of terror” and a crime against humanity.

Two National Guard soldiers were critically wounded in a targeted ambush near the White House after the suspect, a 29-year-old Afghan national, walked up and opened fire on their afternoon patrol.

Trump said in an address to the nation on Wednesday, “We must now reexamine every single alien who has entered our country from Afghanistan, under Biden, and we must take all necessary measures to ensure the removal of any alien from any country, who does not belong here or add benefit to our country.”

The president also announced that he has directed the Department of War to mobilise an additional 500 troops to Washington, D.C.
