US President Donald Trump has called out European leaders for “funding” Putin’s war in Ukraine.
The Trump administration has also called out the European Union’s failure to place economic pressure on China.
The “funding” of the war that the Trump administration referred to is the vast amounts of Russian oil the EU buy from Russia.
The statement was made by a White House official to Fox News Digital following a call between Trump and a Paris summit of European leaders, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Since the beginning of the war, the EU has significantly reduced its Russian oil purchases but has yet to eliminate them completely.
The White House did not cite where they acquired the Russia oil sales figures from.
