Donald Trump praised the United States as the “crowning achievement” of human history while comparing communism to “a cancer” in his address on the nation’s 250th birthday.
In a speech delayed by several hours due to storms and poor weather, Trump claimed that under his presidency, the United States was “prouder than ever before”.
Trump also used his speech to renew attacks on domestic opponents he branded communists, push new voting restrictions and boast about recent military campaigns against Iran and Venezuela, claiming that the US had “wiped out” Iran’s military.
