Donald Trump has ramped up his trade war with China, threatening an additional 100 percent tariff on imports from the Asian nation.
The US President said he would be doing so because Beijing has tightened its rules on rare earth exports.
Share markets tanked on the news – wiping more than two trillion off the US stock market.
President Trump previously alluded to cancelling a face-to-face with China’s President Xi Jinping, but has said the meeting is still on the table.
