US President Donald Trump says the Albanese government rejected a US request for aid in opening the Strait of Hormuz.
“I was very surprised that they said no because we always say yes to them,” Mr Trump said.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese denies any such request was made, while reiterating support for efforts to reopen the vital waterway.
