Senator Jon Ossoff delivered a scathing speech in Savannah, Georgia, heavily criticising former President Donald Trump, Jared Kushner, and his political opponent, Congressman Mike Collins. Ossoff accused the Trump family of leveraging political power for personal wealth, highlighting alleged foreign business dealings. He told the crowd, ‘Your tax dollars are backing a Trump family tungsten mine in Kazakhstan,’ and accused Jared Kushner of seeking billions from foreign leaders for a luxury resort in Albania while conducting Middle East diplomacy. Turning his focus to domestic politics, Ossoff condemned Mike Collins, alleging misuse of public funds and hiring individuals with criminal records and extremist views. He described Collins as ‘a bigot and an anti-Semite under federal investigation for the illegal misuse of tax dollars.’ The Senator also attacked the Republican agenda on healthcare, stating that insurance premiums were doubled for over a million Georgians to fund tax cuts for the wealthy. He warned voters against complacency, urging them to mobilise in the upcoming elections to secure Medicaid expansion and prevent further democratic backsliding. Ossoff invoked the legacy of the late Congressman John Lewis, calling for unity and systemic reforms, including a constitutional amendment to overturn the Citizens United ruling and limit corporate money in politics.
