US President Donald Trump has confirmed the US will provide ‘NATO-like’ security guarantees for Ukraine at his meeting with Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders at the White House.
The European contingent included NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, German Chancellor Freidrich Merz, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Finnish President Alexander Stubb and French President Emmanuel Macron.
The US President however took a backflip on a proposed ceasefire after a summit with Russian President Vladmir Putin in Alaska.
