President Donald Trump has said that despite the re-opening of the Strait of Hormuz for commercial passage by Iran, his US navy blockade will remain on Iranian ports.
Trump speaking following the re-opening, said this blockade will continue until a peace deal with Iran is “100% complete and fully signed”.
In response, Iran has warned that it would close the Strait of Hormuz again if US blockades continued.
The move to re-open the Strait has seen oil prices decrease significantly, and comes following a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon.
