Shadow Resources Minister Susan McDonald has labelled US President Donald Trump’s comments to Ambassador Rudd the “biggest diplomatic slap”.
“I can’t know what the president knew or didn’t know, but I think it was the ultimate burn,” Ms McDonald told Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell.
“Imagine sitting across from the table and saying you’re not sure who this person is, and is he still employed. I think we can all draw our own conclusions, but I think it was the biggest diplomatic slap that I can think of.”
