A US naval blockade on all maritime traffic through Iranian ports in the Strait of Hormuz has come into effect, after a deadline passed for a ceasefire deal and reopening of the passage.
In a social media post, US President Donald Trump said any Iranian ‘fast attack ships’ caught trying to approach the blockade ‘will be immediately eliminated.’
Trump also said that Iran wants to make a deal, but any agreement that allows Tehran to have a nuclear weapon will not be acceptable.
