The US Ambassador to Türkiye and special envoy for Syria and Iraq Tom Barrack has condemned the Israeli strikes on a Syrian air base, calling it an “unnecessary escalation”.
The targets were reportedly on the base’s runway and storage facilities which has been out of service since 2013. In a statement, the Syrian foreign ministry described the attack as an “unjustified act of aggression, a flagrant violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity”.
