The United States and Iran held their first round of indirect technical talks in Doha to implement the 14-point Memorandum of Understanding agreed last month. The discussions focused on securing a lasting ceasefire, ensuring shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, and advancing negotiations. President Donald Trump described the talks as positive, while US Vice President JD Vance defended Washington’s approach. Qatar said the negotiations made progress and would resume after Iran’s funeral ceremonies. Iran, however, issued a sharp warning to the U.S. as both sides continued indirect diplomacy. Meanwhile, a US Navy Seahawk helicopter made an emergency landing in the Arabian Sea, leaving one service member missing.
