The Australian columnist Tom Switzer says the US and Iran have engaged in the most serious escalation since the Memorandum of Understanding was signed.
“This is certainly the most serious military escalation between the two sides since they signed the Memorandum of Understanding on June 17,” Mr Switzer told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“The Iranians want to show that they’ve got coercive leverage in the Strait of Hormuz.”
