US-Iran ‘guiding principles’ agreed on in Geneva, Iran temporarily closes Strait of Hormuz

US officials declared progress had been made, but warned there are still many details to discuss.

The talks in Geneva took place while US fighter jets continued to pour into the Middle East. Meanwhile, Iran conducted a second day of military exercises in the Strait of Hormuz.
