The United States has completed its military withdrawal from Iraq, ending more than a decade of its latest military mission in the country, while Iran and its allied groups celebrated the departure. Tehran described the US exit as a significant victory for forces seeking an end to American military presence in the region. At the same time, Iran says it has received Washington’s response to its latest proposal aimed at reviving a collapsed Gulf ceasefire. The proposal reportedly involves lifting the US blockade of Iranian ports in exchange for Iran reopening the Strait of Hormuz within seven days. While President Donald Trump previously said he rejected the proposal, Iranian officials say Tehran has now received the US response. Mediators including Qatar continue efforts to bridge differences between Washington and Tehran.
