US-Russia Talks LIVE: In Moscow, Witkoff & Kushner Spotted With Putin Aide Before High-Stakes Meet
The motorcade reportedly carrying US special envoy Steve Witkoff was spotted in central Moscow on Tuesday.
Footage shows a convoy driving across the Bolshoi Kamenny Bridge near the Kremlin.
According to media reports, Kirill Dmitriev, presidential aide and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), met the American at the airport. Earlier, Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitri Peskov announced that a meeting between President Vladimir Putin and Witkoff was imminent and added that it would continue for ‘as long as necessary’.
Peskov also confirmed that American businessman and Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner will also take part in the negotiations.
Talks also continued over the weekend between US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the Ukrainian side, now led by Rustem Umerov – after previous team head Andriy Yermak quit his post amid the ongoing Ukraine corruption scandal.
