WA’s road toll heads for 18-year high | 7NEWS

Western Australia’s road toll is on track to reach approximately 200 deaths by year’s end, with 111 lives already lost in the first six months. Despite record government investment in road safety measures including AI-enabled cameras and new technology, experts and the RAC identify driver complacency as a critical factor contributing to the state having the worst per capita road fatality rate in the nation. The Police Commissioner has called for greater community responsibility to reduce road deaths to zero.
