A Broken Hill prospector has unearthed a gold nugget weighing more than a kilogram in outback NSW.
The nugget, nicknamed the ‘Tibooburra Spud’ by the lucky prospector, is said to be worth about $150,000.
The lucky prospector, who wants to stay anonymous, called Broken Hill prospector Greg Spangler from the field after he made the discovery. Spangler joined News Breakfast and surprised viewers with the nugget at the last minute.
