What virtual reality is telling us about our social lives

At a virtual reality production house in East London, researchers from Queen Mary’s University of London recreate a famous experiment by pioneering experimental social psychologist Janet Bavelas, designed to study social interaction and cues. In this version, New Scientist reporters Isabel Baldwin and Linda Rodriguez-McRobbie meet in VR, but unbeknownst to them, their entire interaction is being manipulated for research purposes.
