What would it feel like to be swallowed alive by a whale?
That’s the premise behind Daniel Kraus’s novel Whalefall, which follows a diver trapped inside a sperm whale with just one hour to escape.
Now adapted into a sci-fi film, co-written by Kraus and director Brian Duffield, the story raises one rather unusual question: what does it take to imagine being swallowed by a whale? Our film columnist Bethan Ackerley sat down with Kraus to find out.
