White House asked why Trump threatening to commit ‘potential war crime’ in Iran

United States President Donald Trump, in a Truth Social post, said that the US was in talks with a “more reasonable regime” to ‌end the war in Iran.

In the same post, Trump also threatened to attack the desalination plants that supply clean water in Iran, along with “all of their electric generating plants, oil wells and Kharg Island”, if the Strait of Hormuz is not quickly “Open for Business”.

When asked why Trump is threatening action that could be considered a war crime, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the US military will “always act within the confines of the law, but with respect to achieving the full objectives of Operation Epic Fury, President Trump is going to move forward unabated, and he expects the Iranian regime to make a deal with the administration”.
