Severe weather in New South Wales has led to a tragedy, as a woman in her 40s died when a tree branch fell on her car at Macquarie Pass. A male passenger sustained minor injuries. Police have closed the road for several hours and advised motorists to avoid the area.
As heavy rain and strong winds continued, the New South Wales SES has received around 900 calls for help and has performed at least five rescues due to flash flooding along the coast.
