Foreign Minister Penny Wong has confronted Chinese counterpart Wang Yi about China’s ballistic missile test in the Pacific during their meeting on the sidelines of the ASEAN summit.
The missile was launched from a nuclear-powered submarine and travelled 8.000 km over the Philippines and several other Pacific countries before plunging into waters off the coast of Tuvalu.
Australia’s top diplomat also raised concerns about China’s conduct in the South China Sea after a recent altercation between Chinese and Philippine navy personnel.
