Chinese President Xi Jinping has purged his closest military ally.
General Zhang Youxia was placed under investigation for “grave violations of discipline and the law”.
He is reportedly accused of leaking information about China’s nuclear program to the United States.
His removal follows the expulsion of nine top generals last October.
