It had been originally thought that Andrew would still be entitled to £488,000 for surrendering his 75-year lease early, but a new report from the Crown Estate found that the royal residence is so dilapidated and in need of repairs that in “all likelihood” Andrew “will not be owned any compensation”.
The ex prince handed in his notice on the property on the same day that Buckingham Palace announced that Andrew had lost his titles, and he’s expected to move into a private property on the king’s Sandringham estate early next year.
