There’s been community tributes as well as signs of community tensions in the wake of the Bondi terror attack. Some of the country’s leading political and religious figures have expressed their concerns about the state of social cohesion across Australia.
Former Treasurer Josh Frydenberg called for tougher rules around ‘hate’ speech with specific mention of the Muslim community impact. In response, the Australian National Imams Council called for caution around hateful rhetoric.
