Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and South Korean President Lee Jae-myung rounded off their latest summit meeting in style, with an unexpected jam session where the two played drums together.
The two leaders were seen in matching tracksuits playing the drums to Dynamite by K-pop band BTS and Golden from the animated musical film, Kpop Demon Hunters.
Takaichi, who is a keen drummer and fan of heavy metal, complimented Lee on his new-found musical talent.
“The president learned to play the drums in just five, 10 minutes,” said Takaichi.
In statements on Tuesday, both leaders said they aimed to deepen security and economic ties in the face of growing tensions in East Asia and to continue “shuttle diplomacy,” with Takaichi next due to visit South Korea.
