Donald Trump threatens military action over Christian massacres in Nigeria

Former US ambassador for international religious freedom Sam Brownback speculates on whether US President Donald Trump will initiate military action in Nigeria to address the killing of Christians in the country.

“The government should clearly be doing a lot more to protect the nation.

“President Trump met with the then-President of Nigeria in his first term, and he said: ‘Hey, you’ve got to stop the killing of Christians there,’ and the president went back, sent his military out to the region, and the death numbers fell.

“They can do it; they haven’t done it – they haven’t been willing to.

“What you’re seeing now, President Trump do, is to put pressure on, address this … my concern is you’re going to see a military coup takeover in Nigeria.”
