Despite the initial connection between single mum Bene and farmer Jason, Bene didnât make it into the top five, and after thanking Jason for their time together, she suddenly stumbled backwards.
While it definitely made for a dramatic scene, plenty of viewers criticised Channel 7 for airing the scene in the first place.
Speaking to New Idea, Bene explained, âIt was [the] long days, and youâre so out of your usual routine and environment.â
âI [had] put work on hold, I organised people to look after my daughter. Iâve committed to taking time away from her, and all of this stuff just hit like a freight train.â
Bene added that she hoped it didnât seem like she was trying to make a scene, and that she was very happy for the women who were chosen.
