Helen Haines’ colleagues pay tribute to Indi MP

Politicians from across the aisle have paid tribute to Helen Haines in the House of Representatives.

The independent MP for Indi is now in a stable condition after she was allegedly run down by a car outside her office in Wangaratta, Victoria.

Both of her legs were amputated following the crash, while her alleged attacker Brendan Nugent has been charged over what authorities allege was a deliberate attack on the MP.

MPs including Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Opposition Leader Angus Taylor, and fellow independents Zali Steggall and Monique Ryan gave powerful tributes to Haines as the House sat on Monday morning. #helenhaines #crime #auspol #wangaratta #victoria
