King Charles’s Foundation has transformed Dumfries House in Scotland from a decaying 18th century estate into a thriving heritage site, investing around $100 million to save its rare Chippendale furniture collection and restore 800 hectares of grounds. The estate now trains thousands of students annually in traditional crafts while providing employment to locals in East Ayrshire. The Foundation has purchased Hillview Estate in New South Wales’s Southern Highlands, the former vice-regal summer residence, to replicate the Dumfries House model in Australia.
