Poland has reinforced security along its border with Russia’s Kaliningrad exclave after reports of suspicious activity near the frontier on November 3. Prime Minister Donald Tusk said border guards spotted individuals carrying flashlights shortly after midnight, prompting a rapid response by Polish forces. Additional police, border guards and counter-terrorism units were reportedly deployed, while Polish media said elite GROM special forces had also been sent to the region. The developments have raised fresh concerns over NATO’s eastern flank, particularly around the strategically important Suwalki Gap. Warsaw has repeatedly warned of possible Russian sabotage and hybrid operations as Tusk faces a growing political battle at home.
