LIVE: Thousands Of Ultra-orthodox Jews Protest In Jerusalem Against Army Draft | Mass Haredi Rally
Tens of thousands of ultra-Orthodox (Haredi) Jews flooded the streets of Jerusalem in a massive protest against the Israeli government’s plans to end long-standing military draft exemptions for yeshiva students. Chanting prayers and waving banners, demonstrators denounced the proposed conscription law as a violation of their religious values and way of life. The rally, one of the largest in recent years, brought parts of the capital to a standstill and underscored growing tensions between Israel’s secular and religious communities. Police were deployed in large numbers to maintain order as political leaders grappled with deepening divisions over the issue.
