Mortgage holders are choosing to maintain their current loan repayments despite recent interest rate cuts, with Commonwealth Bank data showing only 11 per cent of homebuyers reduced their repayments following last month’s Reserve Bank meeting. First-home buyers were the least likely demographic to decrease their mortgage burden when given the opportunity.
