Forty years ago, the chance discovery of a matinee jacket near a dingo lair, at the base of Uluru, unravelled a murder conviction and sparked a royal commission. That clothing is now part of a 600-strong Chamberlain collection at the National Museum of Australia, preserving objects from one of the nation’s most notorious homicide investigations. Reporter Laetitia Lemke spoke to senior curator Dr Sophie Jensen, who granted the ABC special access to some of the items, held mostly in storage.
