The number of people missing in Nepal more than doubled to above 2,400, including 41 Australians, after a landslide burst the banks of the Trishuli River on Wednesday. At least 580 people were killed.
Family members of those missing in Nepal’s devastating floods searched desperately for the names of missing flood victims on lists put up by rescuers.
Grieving relatives are spending their day driving around Kathmandu as the lists are updated, more than 48 hours after the deadly floods struck the Nepal-Tibet border.
Chinese and Nepali authorities have warned further flooding may occur, complicating rescue efforts and posing a risk to communities in the area.
