Australia’s new trade deal with the European Union means some food and drink items will need to change their names.
For example, the name for the high-proof liquor ouzo will need to be phased out by Australian producers.
When asked about renaming the spirit to ‘Auszo’, Trade Minister Don Farrell said: “I’m sure there’s ways around [the naming conventions]” but emphasised many Australian foods would retain their names.
