Pauline Hanson storms out of Senate during censure motion

One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has been censured by the Senate following her inflammatory remarks against Muslims.

The Queensland senator came under fire after claiming in an interview last month there were no “good Muslims”, which was roundly condemned by Labor and Liberal MPs as well as the Islamic community.

The motion called on the Senate to censure Hanson for “inflammatory and divisive comments seeking to vilify Muslim Australians, which do not reflect the opinions of the Australian Senate or the Australian people”.

The censure motion passed 36 to 17, with Labor backing it as well as the Greens.
