Professor Trevor Ireland FAA has transformed our understanding of Earth and the cosmos through decades of groundbreaking work. As a geo- and cosmochemist at UQ – and now a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science – he developed SHRIMP ion microprobes, giving scientists a high-resolution look into the past, using tiny clues hidden in the chemistry of minerals. His research unveils the origins of Earth and the Solar System, advancing planetary exploration technologies. Congratulations Trevor!
