The 22-year-old noticed a large carpet python with a “problem” tail in a carport at Australia Zoo, and decided to take the animal to the zoo’s Animal Hospital for a checkup.
Instead of putting the snake in a breathable fabric bag for safe transport, Robert decided it to carry it on his shoulders while driving.
In a video posted to Instagram, the wildlife warrior said “He’s a constrictor. So naturally, he’s just doing to constrict around my neck, and he should stay there while I’m driving.”
“[It’s] a bit of a challenge driving a manual with one hand.”
After a quick check, the vet said there was nothing wrong with the snake’s tail, and that that it could be released.
