Grant Harrold, who served as a butler to King Charles, told Marie Claire that after Williamâs mother Princess Diana died in 1997, Carole Middleton emerged âas a second motherâ to the prince.
He said, âWilliam always had a good relationship with both Kateâs parents, but especially her mother, Carole.â
âWhen I was working with the family, he used to go and spend weekends at their house, which I know he really enjoyed.â
Grant explained that the Middletons âare a warm and welcoming family, and I imagine [they] gave him some of the normality he craved during his 20s and 30s.â
