Rugby League World Cup: Lebanon fans drum up support to welcome the Cedars to Sydney

The Lebanese community has gathered in Sydney to meet members of the country’s rugby league team playing at the 2026 World Cup.

The Cedars are one of ten teams competing in the men’s tournament co-hosted by Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea, with Lebanese players and fans alike proudly celebrating their involvement.

Despite losing their first match to Papua New Guinea in Port Moresby, former Wallabies coach Michael Cheika says he’s confident the newly formed squad can bounce back in time for its next appearance.
