A humanitarian ceasefire in Ukraine offered a brief window for aid and civilian evacuations in Oleshky, even as Russian missile strikes battered Kyiv, killing at least one person and injuring several others, according to Ukrainian officials. The latest overnight assault damaged residential buildings, a university dormitory, metro infrastructure and medical facilities, underscoring the continued threat to civilians nearly five years into Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine. Emergency responders were also reportedly caught in the attacks. Meanwhile, Kyiv continues to target Russian military-linked infrastructure, including a battery plant in Yelets reportedly used to manufacture batteries for glide-bomb guidance systems. As both sides continue their attacks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is pushing for renewed diplomatic engagement with Russia and the United States. Zelensky says Ukraine is ready to freeze the frontlines but remains firm against territorial concessions. Josh Barnes brings you the latest on Firstpost.
