Sydney fish market ‘smells cleaner’ but prices ‘way too high’ as public get a first taste

After years of construction delays the $836m Sydney fish market has finally opened. Guardian Australia’s Caitlin Cassidy visited on the opening day to see whether the 20,000 square metre venue was worth the wait. Six million visitors are expected to flood through the market each year, and by lunchtime on its opening day, it was at capacity, with visitors told to return in the evening or the following day.
