Tens of thousands of people marched across Spain on Saturday to protest the country’s housing crisis.
Some demonstrators carried signs calling for a general strike after parliament on Friday rejected laws drawn up following the attempted eviction of an 87-year-old woman and other housing issues.
Spanish media have reported Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez may call a snap election for November following the failure of the legislation, and would assess the strength of Saturday’s protests before making a decision.
