The war in Iran’s next phase could spell disaster for Australia’s energy market

The Australian Washington Correspondent Joe Kelly says the 14-point Memorandum of Understanding reached by the United States and Iran is “completely dead”.

Mr Kelly told Sky News Australia that the war between Washington and Tehran has entered a “very dangerous and perilous phase.”

He said the “prospect of another front being opened in the Red Sea” will lead to the Houthis “declaring a blockade on Saudi ports.”

“That will further disrupt global energy markets, including disproportionately our part of the world, or Australia’s part of the world.”

“We are now, I think, at a very critical point in this conflict.”
